A COMMERCIAL lawyer has been promoted to associate.
Matt Cormack is carrying out the role at Ward Hadaway, which has offices in Newcastle.
Mr Cormack joined the firm as a trainee solicitor in 2008, and acts for a wide range of clients from large multi-national corporate companies to start-up enterprises.
He advises on issues across various sectors, including offshore oil and gas and subsea products and services, and is also solicitor in residence at the business and intellectual property centre, in Newcastle.
Jamie Martin, Ward Hadaway managing partner, said: “Matt is a very bright and able lawyer who has proved his worth working with a wide range of our clients across the commercial sector.
“It is particularly pleasing to see one of our former trainees achieve promotion to associate.
“We aim to create the right environment for talented lawyers to further their careers here, so it’s very encouraging to see that process in action.”
