A NORTH-EAST law firm is helping a student improve her English for business.

Muckle LLP, which has offices in Newcastle, is working with Italian lawyer Sonia Costa, a student at the International House language school.

Ms Costa has worked for a Milan law firm for three years and is the third student from International House to become an intern at Muckle.

The company previously welcomed students from Spain and Germany.

She said: “I'm enjoying my time and the firm is providing meaningful work experience and involving me in a range of work.”

Jason Wainwright, a partner at Muckle, liaises with International House to set up secondments.

He said: “Like Sonia, the interns we have had all work in the legal or professional services sectors and they come here because they want to improve their language skills within a business context.

“While Sonia is here, we will ensure she is involved in meetings, drafting documents for us to review, carrying out research and working alongside our teams.

“As a law firm in the North-East, which is a major exporting region, we hope these internships are helping to build links between this us and people overseas.”
