EMPLOYMENT law specialists have teamed up with a human resources consultancy to offer businesses a free practical seminar focusing on dealing with managing effective performance in the workplace.

Joan Casson at Tilly Bailey and Irvine Solicitors, and David Dorman-Smith, from Mayberry Consultancy, are inviting employers from across the Tees Valley to attend a free breakfast seminar which will give an insight into how employers can adopt methods to improve employee performance, including employee engagement, and carry out the formal capability procedure which will lead to dismissal if there is no or insufficient improvement.

Ms Casson said: “A productive, motivated workforce brings happy staff and customers, which is why monitoring and managing performance is invaluable to a business.

“This seminar will provide employers with practical advice.”

Mr Dorman-Smith, said: “Employees should have a clear understanding of the expectations of their role and have an opportunity to discuss with their manager ways of how performance can be improved.

“This is an opportunity for employers to get a broad understanding of monitoring performance from both a human resources and legal perspective.”

The free seminar takes place at Tilly Bailey and Irvine Solicitors’ office, 12 Evolution Wynyard Park, TS22 5TB, on Tuesday, March 4.

Registration is from 8am and a complimentary light breakfast will be served.

Places are limited, therefore anyone interested in attending should reserve their place by emailing vcornfield @tbilaw.co.uk or by calling 01429 405040.

This is one of a number of free workshops on employment law and human resources which the firms organise.
