A RESIDENTIAL conveyencing team at a North-East law firm has picked up a national awards ceremony.

Gordon Brown Law Firm the Best Use of Technology in Business Development award 2012 at the prestigious Legal 360 Annual Conference and Awards Dinner.

The award is new for 2012 and recognises the part that technology can play in supporting law firms.

Geoff Hall, associate at Gordon Brown Law Firm said: “This is another feather in the cap for the residential conveyancing team and it’s fantastic to be rewarded after all of the effort that went into changing systems.

“Back in 2006 we decided to reinvent the conveyancing business, moving outside of its traditional heartland to secure new instructions both regionally and nationally.

“We wanted to be able to offer the same first class service but to a wider range of people and we saw technology as the key.

“With the implementation of a conveyancing case management system we have been able to quadruple our work load, realign our resources to maximize profitability and still maintain our high standards.”

The awarding judges look for evidence that the firm could demonstrate they have successfully implemented technology to deliver an efficient, cost-effective, high quality service to their client base.

Richard Bretherton, who presented the award, said: “This award demonstrates that Gordon Brown Law Firm LLP has concentrated on what they do well and has developed a system to enable them to offer their services in a more streamlined and profitable way, clearly differentiating them from the rest of the pack. Gordon Brown is a deserved winner.”
