Free seminars to discuss burning code
TWO regional seminars will discuss
the new heather and grass
burning code.
They want feedback on its
practicality and effectiveness,
and will discuss grazing and cutting
as alternative ways of managing
heather and moorland
areas.
Presentations will be given by
members of the Moorland Burning
Working Group, which advised
the Department for Environment,
Food and Rural Affairs
on the code.
The free seminars will be held
at The Bridge Hotel, in Walshford,
near Wetherby, North Yorkshire,
on Wednesday, April 30,
and The Castle Green Hotel, in
Kendal, Cumbria, on Thursday,
May 1.
Both run from 10am to
3.15pm.
