Board appointment

FORMER Tory party leader Michael Howard has joined the board of Northern Racing.
Mr Howard, who led the Conservative Party in opposition between 2003 and 2005, has joined as a non-executive director.
Northern Racing owns nine racecourses in the UK, including sites in Newcastle and Sedgefield, County Durham. It was acquired by the Reuben Brothers in April last year in a deal worth £90m.
