ENTREPRENEURS are to benefit from a initiative beginning next month offering free business consultancy.

The Accelerated Growth Programme is a free initiative aimed at improving the performance of established small to medium-sized enterprises, covering areas such as strategy, planning, human resources and marketing.

The scheme is being delivered by Be Enterprising and is part of Solutions for Business, the Government’s package of publicly-funded business support.

Funding comes from the Local Enterprise Growth Initiative, matched with funds from the European Regional Development Fund.

Be Enterprising was created to bring about changes in Durham’s former coalfields and rural communities. Within three years, it has helped more than 3,000 people start businesses, with 1,845 moving from benefit dependency.
