AN event encouraging people to set up their own business will take place in Durham next week.
Some of the North-East’s leading business support agencies will be at The Durham Enterprise Fair, in Durham Town Hall, on Thursday.
The event is being organised by the County Durham Economic Partnership and JobCentre Plus, with other support agencies.
They include Be Enterprising, County Durham’s Local Enterprise Growth Initiative (LEGI), which aims to revitalise business and employment prospects in the former coalfield and rural communities of County Durham The guest speaker will be Professor David Johnson, director of Venture to Think, and an expert on the psychology of business creation and ownership.
Elliott Patterson, programme manager at Be Enterprising, said: “Thriving successful businesses are at the heart of prosperous communities and it is important to support the next generation of entrepreneurs as economic recovery depends on jobs.”
The event takes place between 10am and 2pm.
