A FAMILY-RUN printing firm has trebled in size after taking over the rest of a 20,500sq ft factory left vacant when another print company folded.

Studio Print Ltd has also created two jobs after expanding within the factory on Kirkleatham Business Park, near Redcar, east Cleveland.

Two-thirds of the factory was left empty in May after Theakston Print went into liquidation.

Studio Print has given two other printers – both former Theakston employees – temporary contracts with a view to making the posts permanent.

And managing director Eddie Holder is confident of further expansion after acquiring a large-format fivecolour Litho press left behind by Theakston enabling it to print items as big as 60in by 40in.
