Envirowise looks at eco-friendly packaging

9:13am Tuesday 21st October 2008

DESIGNERS will get a better understanding of how to be eco-friendly via a web service run by a Government- backed organisation.

Envirowise will be running a “webinar” to help product and packaging designers in the North-East gain a deeper understanding of eco-design.

Those who register for the session, on February 25, next year, can log on from the comfort of their own desk to attend virtual seminars covering product and packaging eco-design, relevant legislation and live product and packaging disassembly exercises.

The webinar will culminate in a roundtable discussion where attendees will be given the opportunity to ask their own eco-design questions to a panel of experts from organisations including Envirowise and British Standards.

The event takes an indepth look at the design process and offers practical advice on eco-design methodologies.

Guy Bashford, Envirowise North-East manager, said: “The feedback we had from last year’s webinar was extremely positive, with nine out of ten of those who participated saying they would sign up for another one.

“Since then, we have developed the content to give a broader picture and include more practical elements which we think will be of use and interest to anyone involved in the process.”
