A LINGERIE company which received Government praise for its working practices is part of a Royal Mail campaign allowing small businesses to share in tips for success.
Bella di Notte, in Helmsley, North Yorkshire, is one of 100 companies enlisted by the Royal Mail’s Partner for Growth campaign to provide advice to other businesses in an online service.
In June, Deputy Minister for Women and Equalities Barbara Follett, singled out the company for praise for creating a thriving environment for working mums.
Company founder Susan Johnson drew up flexible working contracts to enable workers to balance their jobs with family life, by working between 9am and 3pm.
The business is a case study in growth packs released by Royal Mail, which contain advice, product and service recommendations as well as inspiring case studies from other companies of a similar size and type.
Advice provided ranges from information on finding new customers and keeping existing ones to ways of saving time and money.
The Bella di Notte case study outlines some of the challenges the business has faced as well as founder Susan Johnson’s tips for success.
She said: “Bella di Notte has benefited enormously from the right advice given to us at the right time. Today, the company has 45,000 customers, a turnover of about £2m and has extended its range from lingerie to include cardigans, camisoles and much more.
“Royal Mail has been an integral partner in our growth and success. By being part of this campaign, we can share the benefits of our collective experience with other entrepreneurs and, hopefully, support others in meeting their growth plans.”
Tim Rivett, Royal Mail’s head of small business, said: “This exciting new campaign will help us reach out to our business customers and show them how Royal Mail can be a vital part of their success by showcasing the great number of ways our services can help them improve the quality, cost and reputation of their businesses.”
