A GLAZING company providing customers with a slice of Scandinavian life has moved into new office space in a bid to continue its growth.

JCM Specialist Glazing is now based in Darlington’s Business Central.

Founder John Moore, who had operated the firm from home, said the switch will help the company thrive by fostering new industry relationships.

The firm supplies windows and doors to the North-East and beyond, including Swedish products, and provided systems for a property featured on Channel Four TV show Grand Designs.

Mr Moore says the Business Central move will build on that momentum, with the site’s varied list of tenants providing greater opportunity to expand.

He said: “After operating the business from home, I decided a move to a professional business centre would give me the additional space, support and contacts to achieve the firm’s full potential.

“Though our extensive experience takes us all over the UK, we were keen to stay in Darlington, which is now attracting a lot of investment and feels like the right place to base the business as we continue to grow.

Collaboration is key in our industry, so the opportunity to work at Business Central, where we can network and spark new relationships, makes sense.

“We are very committed to providing great customer care and Business Central is the perfect environment to bring our customers to.”

The company’s Grand Designs project included the installation of NorDan-branded products for a project in York.

Mr Moore added: “NorDan are an industry-leading Scandinavian window manufacturer, and we know from market trends that developers and architects are very interested in this type of product.

“We were extremely proud to have completed the project with Grand Designs.”

Reflecting on JCM’s arrival at Business Central, where companies including draughting firm Fabritek, which worked on structural details for Big Ben’s renovation, are based, manager Vanessa Wood said it was a significant coup.

She added: “Being able to collaborate with other individuals and businesses is an important aspect of JCM’s growth and I’m delighted to have another ambitious firm as part of our community.”
