A FOOD packaging maker has been taken over by a fellow market operator.
Kama Europe Limited, which trades as Pactiv and is based in Sedgefield, County Durham, has been bought by Sirap-Gema from Reynolds Group Holdings Limited.
The deal, agreed for an undisclosed sum, is expected to be completed in January.
Bosses say Kama will be integrated into the Sirap-Gema portfolio as it aims to secure further growth in the food packing market, adding there will be no impact on the Sedgefield factory.
Kama’s Sedgefield production plant employs 110 people and had a turnover of around £35m in 2016.
Grant Thornton’s Yorkshire-based corporate finance team and Slaughter and May advised Reynolds on the deal.
