A CALL centre operator has revealed plans to create 500 North-East jobs.
Firstsource Solutions UK says it wants workers to meet higher demand after securing a number of contracts.
Bosses say the roles will include customer service agents, team leaders and trainers.
They added the staff will help the company, based in Middlesbrough, deliver customer service for clients such as the Financial Conduct Authority, with which it recently signed a two-year deal.
The company employs 180 people in Middlesbrough, but Johnny Auton, site director, said it needs to expand.
He added: “Our growing client base means we’re now in a position to expand the number of roles we can offer the people of Middlesbrough.
“After what has been a challenging period for the region, I am proud Firstsource has committed to being a part of its regeneration by bringing work back to our local area.
“We want to give people in Middlesbrough who are passionate about delivering great customer experiences exciting opportunities to develop their careers.’’
