BOSSES at an office hub say the development has secured its largest private sector tenant.

Officials behind Spectrum Business Park have revealed Northumbrian Water has chosen the site as the new base for its framework partnerships, which see a number of organisations work together to deliver projects.

The company is moving into Spectrum 5, based at Seaham, east Durham, and will take two of the building’s three floors.

Once finished, the offices will house around 200 staff, including Northumbrian Water workers and framework partners Esh/MWH, Interserve and MMB.

Paul Wellstead, Spectrum property developer, said: “This is a real coup and demonstrates just how far the park has come since I started creating my vision over ten years ago.”

Northumbrian Water said it chose Spectrum Business Park, which is also home to Durham County Council, Great Annual Savings Company and BE Group, because of its location, transport links and parking facilities.

John McGovern, head of asset delivery, added: “This will create one central hub for our infrastructure teams.”
