ORGANISERS behind a popular business expo say dozens of companies have already signed up for this year’s milestone event.

Durham Oktoberfest will mark its tenth anniversary later this year and officials say the latest version promises to be bigger and better than ever.

The manufacturing and engineering expo brings together hundreds of people from the region’s business community to network and showcase their expertise to customers and suppliers.

David Land, chairman of County Durham Engineering and Manufacturing Network, which runs the event, has confirmed that number will include Newton Aycliffe-based Stiller Warehousing & Distribution, which previously secured work with Stanley’s Marmax thanks to the expo.

He added: “This is the perfect platform to showcase the North- East’s vast engineering and manufacturing capabilities.

“But more than that, it offers businesses the chance to meet potential buyers, suppliers and customers which we know can and does lead to work.

“Just recently, Stiller secured a six-figure contract with Marmax as a direct result of attending last year.”

The event will take place on Thursday, October 19, at the Xcel Centre, in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham.
