A PROPERTY conservation firm hopes to create further jobs after adding 70 years’ of industry experience to its team.

BCS Preservation, based in Darlington, wants a number of technicians to help meet a growing order book.

The plans come after the business, which saw sales rise more than 40 per cent over the last 12 months, made a trio of appointments.

Ian Hopkin and Richard Leckie have joined as surveyors alongside contracts administrator Sarah Stainsby.

The threesome have decades of industry experience, with Mr Hopkin alone having worked in the preservation sector for almost 40 years.

Aaron Davidson, managing director of BCS, which delivers services to rectify property concerns such as damp proofing and cavity wall tie replacement, said its staffing move was a sign of intent.

He added: “This is set to be a busy year for us and we plan on expanding the team further by recruiting several technicians to help with the ever-increasing workload.”

The company runs a site on Darlington’s Cleveland Industrial Estate and is known for supporting surveyors, local authorities, letting agents and homeowners.

It previously took office space at Darlington’s Business Central and secured a deal to provide damp proofing and timber treatment for 21,000 homes and commercial bases across North Yorkshire.
