NORTH-EAST firms are being encouraged to bid for a role in a renewable energy project.
Infinis is holding a meet the developer day alongside the North East Chamber of Commerce at Aykley Heads, Durham City, on Wednesday, June 4.
The company plans to build a five-turbine wind farm at Wingate Grange farm, between Wingate, Wheatley Hill and Trimdon, County Durham.
It could generate energy for up to 8,000 homes.
Bosses say the project will offer work for local companies, including builders, metal workers and electrical contractors.
Tim Mockridge, Infinis’ project developer, said: “We are delighted to be partnering the North East Chamber of Commerce, which is ideally placed to highlight the tangible benefit to businesses from the farm.”
