A SOFTWARE specialist is bringing jobs to the North-East.

Quorum, which provides software for the power generation industry, has created 12 posts after moving to Netpark, in Sedgefield, County Durham.

The company works across Europe, allowing customers in Germany, Belgium and Denmark to monitor and trade electricity and gas.

John Sherban, Quorum's commercial director, said: “We have first-class facilities and received expert help from Business Durham, so had no hesitation in setting up base here.”

Dr Simon Goon, managing director of Business Durham, which is Durham County Council's business division, added: “This is another step forward in the continuing development of Netpark as the perfect environment for science and technology companies to flourish.

“We are delighted to welcome Quorum and look forward to working with them as they achieve more success in the future.”
