JOBS have been saved after a laboratory maker was rescued from administration.

MSS Clean Technology, in Sheriff Hutton, near York, has been bought by Environmental Engineering, saving all 12 workers' posts.

Founded in 1982, MSS specialises in designing, making and installing laboratories and cleanrooms, working across the pharmaceutical, healthcare and electronics sectors.

The business was put into administration last month, but has now been sold to a new company, Imco, which is part of Environmental Engineering.

Rob Sadler, joint administrator, said: “We were confident a buyer would quickly be found for MSS, and as part of Environmental Engineering, the business and its staff and management have a more secure future.

“With its strong reputation for outstanding design capabilities and quality of service, Environmental Engineering provides an ideal fit, enabling MSS to grow.”
