A FIRM specialising in protective casings for power cables is creating North-East jobs.
Bosses say they hope to create more jobs in the future.
Cubis is part of the CRH Group, and makes cable troughs for the rail industry and posts that warn workers of overhead power lines.
Colman Cooney, Cubis' commercial director, said: “This is an exciting move for us.
“We have received excellent support from the Business Durham team and our first class facilities will help us expand even further.
“We have taken on 11 members of staff but we are looking to create more jobs.”
Simon Goon, managing director of Business Durham, Durham County Council's business division, said Cubis' arrival was another coup for the region.
He said: “We have been in discussions with the company for many months and they are the latest in a long line to recognise County Durham’s growing reputation as a top location for expanding companies.
“We will do everything we can to offer more help and support to ensure the company grows and develops in the county.”
Cllr Neil Foster, the council's cabinet member for economic regeneration, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Cubis as the latest innovative business choosing County Durham as the place to locate.
“Through the work of Business Durham we’re ensuring that the county is seen as a great place to work and live, creating jobs and boosting the local economy.”
