Trinity win the relays

2:13pm Wednesday 16th May 2001

Trinity School won four out of the five events they entered at the prestigious Achilles Schools Relays in Oxford last week.

The strong crop of young sprinters from the school in Shirley Park overcame the likes of Harrow, Eton and Millfield.

Trinity was captained by Jake Elsworthy, 17, and included national schools champions Ugochi Anomelechi and Bernard Yeboah.

The seniors won the 4x400m, 4x200m and were second in the 4x100m, with the under 17s scooping the 4x100m and 4x200m titles.

This famous athletics site on Iffley Road, Oxford, is steeped in history, having witnessed one of the greatest running races ever known, when Roger Bannister broke the four-minute mile.

Full report next week.
