Firefighters tackle chip shop blaze
FIREFIGHTERS are tackling a blaze at a fish and chip shop in a market place.
North Yorkshire fire brigade received a call to the incident in Richmond and about 10.40am.
The fire has spread to the roof, which is well alight.
Four fire engines are at the site, including an aerial platform from Darlington.

You lazy,unhealthy people. it will do you good to give a greasy chippy a miss. try cooking for yourself,or like you say "starve". bet your overweight anyway.

I was in Richmond when it started. I just happened to be parking my motorbike when I was englufed in smoke from the fire. People were being asked by the police to move away from the area, as the chip shop uses gas burners to heat the chip oil. I agree about the chippy in Newbiggin. The staff in there are a real miserable lot. Maybe they should have had to have dealt with the blaze in the market place
