LOCAL plans to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee will become a little clearer on Monday evening. Parish councillors are due to discuss the event when they meet up at their first parish council meeting of the year at the Memorial Centre at 8pm.
ROYAL Hatters, James Lock and Co, will be the subject of Mr R G B Stevenson's talk to the Gerrards Cross and Chalfonts History Society next Friday evening. The group will assemble at the Memorial Centre at 8pm.
AS part of the week of prayer for Christian Unity, the local Churches Together group is holding an ecumenical service at St James' Church on the Oxford Road at 6.30pm on Sunday.
THE Decorative & Fine Arts Society meets at the Memorial Centre on Wednesday.
BRIAN Rivers from PWC Executive Resourcing, a local management company, is a guest of the Careers Springboard at St Andrews Church in Packhorse Road on Monday evening when he will give the members an Introduction to Interim Management. It is at 8pm.
THE Gerrards Cross Flower Club has a new chairman. Sally Milner was elected for a three-year stint and succeeds Florence Memery.
DURING term time a crche for pre-school children is open on Thursday mornings at the Memorial Centre, which is of great help to local mums. It is open between 10am and 11.55am. Also during term time, the parents, toddlers and babies group meets at St James Church in Gerrards Cross between 10am and 11.30am on Tuesdays.
IDEAL if you just want to drop in or need a break from one of the classes, the Caf Mid-Day is open at the Memorial Centre for a coffee, snacks or light refreshments between 10am and 2pm on weekdays.
50 Plus Away Days group to serve Gerrards Cross, Seer Green and Beaconsfield has been organised. The success of the club will depend heavily on support from the 50s age group and members will be encouraged to nominate destinations for outings. These are to include seaside trips, mystery tours, visits to historic houses and vintage railways, plus Continental journeys.
