Middlesbrough

AS A lifetime Boro supporter I think that I have solved the problems that are holding them back since Gordon Strachan’s arrival.

It has been suggested that they need a strong defender and a top class striker, but what they really need is an interpreter.

However, Boro seem to be tackling the situation by signing half of the Celtic team.

Also, I was sad to see the departure of Adam Johnson to Manchester City, I regard him as the bargain of the season.

Yet I don’t blame the lad one bit as a player of his talent deserves to play in a higher grade of football than he is likely to get at the Boro.

As for loyalty, he owes Boro nothing because, under Gareth Southgate, when Stewart Downing was here, Johnson never got a fair crack of the whip. He was much more complete footballer than Downing ever was, yet he was constantly overlooked and always Southgate’s second choice. Good luck to Adam in the future.
