Town Ready For Competitive Debut

A LATE Bradley Quinn equaliser saw Enfield Town earn a 1-1 draw at Ryman League division two side Leyton Pennant on Saturday.

The hosts took the lead in the 24th minute and might have had more goals but for some fine saves from Andy Hall in the Town goal.

With two minutes remaining, a speculative shot from Ronnie Watson was pushed on to the post by Pennant's keeper, rebounding to Quinn who netted with an acrobatic volley.

Last Wednesday (August 8), Town drew 2-2 at Wealdstone Town thanks to an own goal and one from Danny Clarke.

Manager Jim Chandler is now preparing Town for their first ever competitive game on Saturday, away to Basildon United in the Foresters Essex Senior League.

He has secured the services of experienced midfielder John Ridout, a member of the Enfield FC Diadora League championship-winning team of 1995. Former Pennant defender Bradley Brotherton has been handed the Enfield Town captaincy.

The club are running coaches to away games this season.
