ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14 THE A1(M) MOTORWAY (JUNCTION 57 TO JUNCTION 58) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited intends to make an Order on the A1(M) Motorway, in the County of Darlington and North Yorkshire, to enable bridge repair works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Thursday 1 February 2018 for 6 weeks, or until completed, and will take place overnight between 8pm and 6am.
The effect of the Order will be to close, at times during the works, the A1(M):
(i) northbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Junction 57 (Blackwell Spur) to the entry slip road at Junction 58 (Burtree), a distance of 7700 metres;
(ii) southbound carriageway from the exit slip road at Junction 58 to the entry slip road at Junction 57, a distance of 7600 metres; and
(iii) northbound exit and southbound entry slip roads at Junction 58. During the closures suitably signed alternative routes will be available. The Order comes into force on 31 January 2018 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months.
THE A66 TRUNK ROAD
(BLANDS CORNER ROUNDABOUT TO NEASHAM ROAD ROUNDABOUT) (TEMPORARY RESTRICTION AND PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Highways England Company Limited has made an Order on the A66 Trunk Road, in the District of Darlington, to enable replacement safety barrier, vegetation clearance and sign erection works to be carried out in safety.
The works are expected to start on Monday 8 January 2018 for 3 weeks or until completed.
The effect of the Order will be, for 24 hours a day, for the duration of the works, to:
(i) impose a temporary 40mph speed restriction and close the laybys adjacent to the A66 eastbound and westbound carriageways between Blands Corner Roundabout and Neasham Road Roundabout, a distance of 2500 metres; and
(ii) close the layby adjacent to the A66 westbound carriageway approximately 250 metres west of Morton Palms Roundabout, which will be used as an abnormal load holding area.
Traffic management will be in force 24 hours a day. The Order comes into force on 7 January 2018 and has a maximum duration of eighteen months. Traffic signs will indicate the extent of the restrictions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles or special forces vehicles) and prohibitions (which will not apply to emergency service vehicles, vehicles being used in connection with the said works or winter maintenance purposes).
