WILKINSON Alan Jean Wilkinson and family express their sincere thanks for the warmth of the support shown to them by their neighbours, friends and by so many people who had known Alan over the years, and who took the time to contact us and come to his funeral. This, and the many letters and tributes to Alan we have received, have been a great comfort to us all and continue to be so. We also thank particularly Dr Carter and his colleagues for their care, the doctors and nursing staff of Darlington Memorial, and the volunteer drivers. We especially thank the Rev Canon Alec Harding for his comfort and kindness, and for the caring and fitting funeral service. We thank Gordon and Mark Brownless for their help, care and for carrying out their role in exactly the way Alan would have wanted. Our warm thanks also to Barnard Castle School for their great generosity and kindness. Thank you finally to those who have given so generously to Alan’s chosen charity, the NSPCC.
