BROWN January 9, Olive Brown M.B.E., aged 78 years of Crook. Retired Councillor, devoted wife of Ken. Beloved Daughter of the late Edward and Mary Hindmarch. Will friends please meet for service in St Catherine's Church, Crook, at 1.00pm, on Tuesday, January 23, followed by cremation at Wear Valley Crematorium. After the service all are invited for refreshments, in Crook R.A.F.A Club.

A very big shock to hear this news of Olive. She had a special place in my heart over the past 60 years. She was a wonderful kind intelligent person who was devoted to the big part she played with the local Council. I know of her sacrifices being a Councillor and Leader of the Council as I also was employed by the Council throughout years Olive served on it. We worked together and over the earlier years spent many times socially, events I will never forget.
I know Ken will be devastated, all I can say is be strong and think of the happy life you both had together, time will help to heal.
May Olive rest in peace.
