McNEILL Derek George (Fencehouses) Formerly of Chester-Le-Street, peacefully at home in the arms of his loving family, on September 29, aged 74 years, after a long illness bravely borne with the utmost courage and dignity. Adored and devoted husband of Mary (nee Newman), idolised dad of Derek and daughter-in-law Kay, cherished grandad of Jack and Katie, dear son of the late Jack and Ivy, much loved brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle and friend to many. Could friends please meet at St. Mary's and St. Cuthbert's Church, Middle Chare, Chester-Le-Street, on Friday, October 16, at 11.30a.m. Interment at Ropery Lane Cemetery. Friends welcome afterwards at Chilton Country Pub, DH4 6PY. Private bus will be available adjacent to home address and then from Chester-Le-Street Riverside Car Park, due to parking restrictions if required. Flowers welcome, or donations in lieu if so desired to St. Benedict's Hospice. Collection box in church.
