- 03/12/12 clheffernan says I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. Jane was a wonderful person, who extended both small and large kindnesses to all who knew her. In addition to her family, her loss will be felt by the large number of staff and students with whom she interacted over the years. I for one, will miss her amusing stories and wonderful outlook on life. Claire Heffernan I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. - 10/12/12 NickTaylor says Jane is missed greatly. She was always a caring part of the team in PAN, always thinking of others and of what she could do to help not only us, but our families as well. My daughter remembers well the times Jane gave her lifts to the dentist in her open top Saab. Jane is missed greatly. I have only just found out that Jane passed away, the very sad news came from our mutual friend and colleague, Cynthia, who worked with us at Reading Uni. It was a shock, I have thought of Jane many times over the years, what a shame we didn't keep in touch. She was very kind to me, I especially remember when I had car problems, she would drive out of her way to pick me up and take me to the office. My heart goes out to Vicky and Alex.
