The Minotaur Group has unveiled plans for a residential development at the Murton Victoria Social Club in Church Street, Murton, near Peterlee. A planning application seeking outline permission for the proposals has been submitted to Durham County Council. Consideration is pending.

CHARGING POINT: Planning permission has been granted for the installation of an electric vehicle charging point at Road Chef, Tursdale Road, Bowburn, near Durham City.

PACT MEETING: A Police and Community Together (Pact) meeting will be held at Shotton Community Centre, in Shotton Colliery, near Peterlee, 6pm to 7pm on Wednesday, January 8. A member of the neighbourhood policing team will be in attendance. A further meeting will be held at the same time and date at Easington Social Welfare Centre, in Easington Colliery.

CHANGE USE: Durham County Council planning officers have granted permission for the change of use of a community centre to form a dwelling at Communal Hall, Cedarwood, Fencehouses, near Chester-le-Street. Permission has also been granted to change the use of the community centre at 20 Elm Court, Sacriston, to form a detached dwelling.

PERMISSION REFUSED: Durham County Council planning officers have refused permission for the demolition of agricultural buildings and the erection of a single-storey home at High Fallowfield Farm, on the lane to High Fallowfield, South Hetton.
