Three children’s shows are heading to The Fire Station in Sunderland over the next month.

The shows for all the family will arrive at the Wearside venue in the next few weeks, just in time for the school half term.

The Three Bears, a musical version of the classic fairy-tale will head to the Fire Station on Monday May 27.

It will be followed by The Science Museum’s live stage show and then a performance of ‘The Tiger Who Came to Tea’.  

Tamsin Austin, Venue Director at The Fire Station, said: “Being a family-friendly venue is vitally important to us and we’re ready to warmly welcome these three special shows. Although they’re very different, they all offer unique theatre experiences - from the raucous energy of The Three Bears to thrilling scientific experiments to an award-winning children’s classic.

“Such shows can often be a young person’s first experience of theatre and we take this responsibility seriously, creating a friendly and welcoming environment for young people and their families.”

The Three Bears, originally created for the Northern Stage, sees mammy, daddy and baby bear deep in the forest as they attempt to find interesting items to re-use in their home.

The curtain will be up at 11am and 1.30pm on May 27.

The following day live science experiments will wow kids with the Science Museum’s live show.

And in June the tiger will come to Sunderland for tea with the show, based on the Judith Kerr book.

It will show on Tuesday June 11 and Wednesday June 12.
