Emergency services have been dealing with an incident in woodland in Peterlee.

A police cordon was put up earlier today in the Bede Way area of the town.

Officers from Durham Constabulary and North East Ambulance Service have been at the scene.

A NEAS spokeswoman said: “We received a call at 4.26pm this afternoon to an incident in the Bede Way area of Peterlee. 

“We sent a specialist paramedic and ambulance crew and police also attended the scene.”

Durham Constabulary has also been contacted for more information.
