A stretch of the A1(M) in County Durham had two miles of traffic tailbacks on Monday (February 12) morning after a crash between a car and a HGV.
Drivers using the A road this morning near Chester-le-Street were met with long delays and part closures, as emergency services attended at about 7am, following a crash involving the two vehicles.
Police vehicles were spotted at the scene for about an hour and a half while they dealt with both vehicles and made the road safe for other motorists.
Durham Police have since confirmed that no one was injured during the crash, but the road was partly shut off Northbound between Chester-le-Street and Picktree.
