It's only a few days ago, so The Northern Echo's second BUSINESSiQ Awards is still very fresh in the memory for our amazing winners and our audience.

We've already shared some great photos from our drinks reception before the event started, and now we can share some that photographer Chris Booth took as the awards were handed out.

Among the big winners revealed at a glitzy ceremony at Ramside Hall were Business of the Year the Applebridge Family, and Ellen Thinnesen OBE, CEO of the Education Partnership North East was named Inspirational Leader of the Year.

Special guest Hays Travel Chair Dame Irene Hays, spoke to our host Alfie Joey as the evening got underway, and she told him: “Every time I come to an awards ceremony, I go home learning much more than I came with. I think it’s really important that we help to look after the North East – I am a passionate regionalist.”
