One man has been arrested after an alleged brawl at a pub in Middlesbrough yesterday evening that left another man in a critical condition.
A large "violent incident" broke out at the Jack and Jill pub, on Crossfell Road in Middlesbrough yesterday evening (Saturday, May 10), with police in attendance at the establishment into the night.
Officers from Cleveland Police rushed to the scene, and remained in the area whilst enquiries continue and the "full circumstances of the incident are established."
Now, Cleveland Police have confirmed a 25-year-old man has been arrested, whilst another man remains in hospital, in a critical condition.
A spokesperson for the force said: "A 25-year-old man has been arrested in connection with an incident at the Jack and Jill pub in Crossfell Road, Middlesbrough.
"Officers were called to the scene shortly before 6pm on Saturday 11th May following reports of an assault.

"The man remains in police custody at this time. A man is in hospital in a critical condition.
"Enquiries are continuing and officers would like to reassure the local community that there is not believed to be any risk to the wider public.
"Any witnesses or anyone with information is urged to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting reference number CVP-24-087342."
